Nalgonda: The district police on Thursday arrested a man working in Duabi at Mumbai airport for allegedly harassing a woman on the pretext of marriage.

According to SP Prakash Reddy, the accused Kalkineni Ammanraja, a native of Mukkamala village of Peravali mandal in Andhra Pradesh, was working as housekeeping supervisor in Accuro Specialist Support Services in UAE. He befriended a woman, a native of Nakrekal, working in Chennai. On the pretext of love and marriage, he managed to get the woman’s naked pictures.

Later, he started blackmailing her and warned of posting the pictures online if she discloses the matter to anyone.

Terrified over the issue, the woman lodged a complaint with Nalgonda SP Prakash Reddy on July 1. The SP constituted a team with Nakrekal CI Subbirami Reddy, SB CI Dhanunjaya Goud, SI Raghavulu and CCS staff to investigate the case.

As part of the investigation, police paid special attention to the accused’s facebook account and phone calls and arrested him at Mumbai airport on Wednesday night. During the course of interrogation, the accused confessed his crime. Police seized his cell phone and memory card, and his passport.

Meanwhile, the Nalgonda police advised the girls and women not to trust unknown persons and not to share any personnel details and pictures on social media sites, as these may become fodder for the blackmailers and extortionists.
