Nalgonda: MP Gutha Sukender Reddy advised TJAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram to maintain diplomacy and stop making provocative statements that lead to differences between the neighboring districts of Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar.

Addressing the newspersons in Nalgonda on Thursday, Gutha said following the directions of World Health Organisation, the state government has planned to eradicate fluorosis in villages of Devarakonda and Munugodu Assembly constituencies by providing the irrigation facility through Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme.

The project would irrigate 3 lakh acres in Nalgonda district and 80,000 acres in Mahbubnagar, he informed.
The MP further condemned Kodandaram’s objections over drawing the water from Narlapur reservoir of Mahbubnagar for Dindi scheme which might create gap between Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts and lead to water war.

Labelling Kodandaram an agent of Congress, Gutha demanded Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jana Reddy to respond on Kodandaram’s comments.

Stating that present water in Udayasamudram was 0.08 tmcft, he brought the matter to the notice of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao calling for necessary action.

He exuded confidence that the reservoir would be filled with water in a week after the meeting of the Krishna River Management Board slated on July 11, on water release to Nagarjunasagar project. TRS leaders Dubbaka Narsimha Reddy and Tummala Lingaswamy were present at the press meet.
