​Sircilla: District Collector D Krishna Bhaksar suggested the owners of handloom units established under Small Scale Industry (SSI) to speed up the manufacturing of Bathukamma sarees to hand over them to the government within the prescribed time limit.

He along with Joint Collector Yasmine Basha inspected the manufacturing of Bathukammam sarees at Venkatraonagar in Sircilla on Thursday.

The Collector said that the government is making all efforts to bail out the handloom industry and help the handloom workers present across the State.

With the initiation of IT Minister KT Rama Rao, the government gave bulk order to many small-scale handloom units for manufacturing Bathukammam sarees to distribute them to women on the occasion of the Bathukamma festival, informed the Collector.

Krishna Bhaskar ordered the owners of handloom units not to compromise on quality. The Collector inspected SSI Units of Akini Srinivas and Dhudam Shankar.

Additional Director of Handloom and Textile Industries V Ashok Rao, Development Officers Charan and Srinivas were present along with others.
