Rich tributes were paid to former deputy prime minister late Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary here on Thursday.
​Hanamkonda: Rich tributes were paid to former deputy prime minister late Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary here on Thursday.
A programme was organised at Congress Bhavan under the aegis of Warangal urban district SC Cell president Polamari Vijay. The party city Congress president K Srinivas Rao, TPCC general secretary Namindla Srinivas and others offered homage to Jagjivan Ram.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders demanded the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, to extend support to UPA Presidential election nominee and former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, who happens to be the daughter of Jagjivan Ram.
Similarly in another programme in Warangal, the city Congress working president Rajanala Srihari, BC cell president Kothapelli Srinivas, leaders K Lakshmikanth, TV Murthy and others paid homage to Jagjivan Ram.
Srihari addressing the gathering, recalled the contributions made by Jagjivan Ram as union agriculture minister by introducing Green Revolution and introducing reservations to the SC/STs in the country.
