​Warangal: Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy has called upon the non-governmental agencies to come forward to support the government initiate in helping the families of the farmers, who committed suicide.

He said the State government has come up with various measures to help the farmers as well their widows. As part of such efforts, the government decided to offer pension to single women, whose husbands have died.
The MLA distributed educational and trade loans to widows at a programme organised at Geesukonda in the district on Thursday under the aegis of Sarvodaya Youth Organisation.

He also distributed certificates to women, who completed computer training conducted by the organisation.
Dharma Reddy told the rural women to acquire technical skills to increase their employment opportunities. He advised the women to make proper use of the loans and build up small enterprises to achieve financial stability.

The organisation secretary P Damodar informed that in order to support widows, women affected by domestic violence and girls in rural areas, they have organised computer training classes in Atmakur and Geesukonda mandals.

With the support of Karl Kübel Foundation (KKS) and German Federal Ministry for Economic and Development, 167 women and girls were given training. Similarly, 190 women were given interest free loans. Educational loans worth Rs 5,000 each was given to the children of 28 single women.

Geesukonda MPP M Kalavathi, ZPTC A Kavitha, MPDO O Saicharan, MRO G Srinivas, the organisation representatives Vijay Moses, Chaparthi Srinivas, Mohammed Akthar and others were present.
