Khammam: The officials must work in such a way that the welfare schemes implemented by the state government reach the needy and poor, ordered Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

The Minister inaugurated the new building of the village Panchayat, constructed at a cost of Rs 18 lakh, at Lokyathanda in Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the R&B Minister said the state government allotted huge amounts of funds for the uplift of weaker sections of the society.

Stating that the government was determined to allot double bedroom houses to shelterless families, he said 2BHK houses would be constructed after identifying the land in the village.

The Minister urged the villagers to finish the construction works of toilets as early as possible and asked the officials to release the bills to those villagers who completed the construction of toilets.

“The villagers must coordinate with each other and must try to cooperate in completing various developmental works that are going in their village,” advised Tummala.

Later, the Minister received applications from the people on various issues and ordered the officials to solve them immediately. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepally Kavitha said the state government was investing crores of rupees for laying of roads connecting all the villages, town and cities and was striving hard for the betterment of people by introducing various welfare schemes.

The SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthy Ravi urged the people to participate actively in the third phase of Haritha Haram programme and make it a grand success.

Former MLC Potla Nageshwar Rao, Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, District Panchayat Raj Officer Srinivas Reddy and ZPTC Ramachandru were present along with others.
