​Hanamkonda: Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari asked officials and elected representatives to work like a family in taking welfare schemes to the door step of the beneficiaries.

Both the officials and elected representatives should make use of their power to help the public and for their wellbeing. The power remains futile if it was not used for welfare of the society.

One could earn a good name only by his good works, the Deputy CM pointed out. Srihari chaired a review meeting on the implementation of welfare and development activities in Warangal Urban and Rural, Jangaon, Mahabubabad and Jayanshanker Bhupalpalli districts in Hanamkonda on Friday.

He advised the officials to serve with commitment and principles but not to impress the political leaders, ad not to allow delay in decision making regarding important issues.

“Entire nation is watching the welfare programmes being implemented by the Telangana government hence everyone should with development and welfare as agendas”.

Referring to the Haritha Haram programme, the Deputy CM suggested conducting Haritha Rakshana Committee meetings by July 12. For each village, an official should be made in-charge and elected representatives should be involved.

During a review on agriculture, he directed the officials to initiate serious action on those, who were selling fake seeds. This year it was planned to distribute nearly 70 crore fish seeds to fishermen. The fish seeds would be released into 28, 000 tanks in the state of which 5,000 were in erstwhile Warangal district.

During the meeting several MLAs have complained that banks were neglecting distribution of loans through SC/ST/BC and Minority Corporations to the unemployed youth. Srihari while directing the collectors to address the issue and suggested to write to RBI against the banks that were not cooperating.

Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal wanted collectors to hold meetings with bankers to ensure grounding of government schemes. Finance Minister E Rajender stressed on the need to ensure survival of saplings planted as part of Haritha Haram instead of giving priority to the numbers of plants.

ZP Chairperson G Padma, Rajya Sabha member V Lakshmikantha Rao, district collectors Amrapali Kata, Preethi Meena, A Devasena, A Murali and Prashanth J Patil, MLCs, MLAs and chairpersons of different corporations were present.
