Along with the Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh, the committee has Kagaznagar DSP Habib Khan, District Probation Officer M Raju, CWC Chairman Amrutha Rao, Assistant Labour Officer Mazamunnisa Begum, District Welfare Officer and DCPO K Ramesh as members.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that the aim of ‘Operation Muskaan’ is to curb child-trafficking and rescue children from people, who are trying to engage them in begging, sex-trade, labour and other anti-social activities.

Under this programme, specially-trained police officers will keep an eye on crowded places like bus stations and railway stations. As many as 67 children were rescued during the second phase and all the children were re-united with their guardians and nine children were handed over to welfare home.

Under this campaign missing children those found abandoned would be rescued and re-united with their families.

A special team comprising officials of the district children protection office, social welfare department, police department and differently-abled welfare office, labor department and NGOs has been constituted for Operation Muskaan.

Measures are being taken to reunite these children with their parents. Special Branch CI A Venkateshwarlu, SIs, M Shiva Kumar and J Shyam Sunder, Asifabad Town CI Satish Kumar, SP CC Srinivas and PRO Manohar were present.
