The All India Student Federation threatened to lay siege to the farm house of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao if the government goes ahead with closure of government schools owing to less strength.

Khammam: The All India Student Federation threatened to lay siege to the farm house of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao if the government goes ahead with closure of government schools owing to less strength.

The representatives of the AISF, led by Federation’s district secretary Jagarlamudi Ranjith Kumar, held a cycle rally on Tuesday and visited all government schools and hostels in the Khammam city demanding the government to solve the problems pertaining to government schools and hostels.

Speaking at a meeting held on the premises of NSP High School, Ranjith Kumar alleged that the Chief Minister was behaving like a monarch and was adopting anti-people policies and trying to dissolve government education sector.

“Instead of working towards increasing the strength in government schools, KCR’s government is trying to close as many as 4,637 government schools in the state,” he criticised.

Alleging that the government did not supply books and uniforms to the students even after two months into the academic year, he said most of the schools’ lack even basic facilities like drinking water and toilets.

“Before going to elections, KCR promised that the government schools would be developed on par with corporates. But by taking the decision of closing of government schools, he is trying to dissolve the government education sector and encouraging the corporate institutions,” he pointed.

All the government schools must be upgraded to Gurukul schools along with providing required basic facilities and with the implementation of TRS party’s poll promise of KG to PG free education immediately, he demanded.

AISF representatives Etikala Rama Krishna, Madupally Lakshman, Nagula Meera, P Gopi, Vara Prasad, Premchand, Ramu and Narayana were present along with others.
