​Khammam: All arrangements have been made for perfect implementation of third phase of prestigious Haritha Haram programme, said District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar.

Addressing the officials at a meeting held to discuss the implementation of Haritha Haram programme in the district here at Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) on Tuesday, the Collector said arrangements were made for planting about 1.95 crore of saplings in the district on Wednesday, when the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao would inaugurate the programme at 11 am at Velugumatla village under Khammam Municipal Corporation.

The Collector informed that as many as 6,00,000 saplings would be planted on Wednesday. Elaborate arrangements have been made apart from allotting 10,000 saplings to every village panchayat.

“Necessary steps have been taken for planting about 50,000 saplings in forest region and about one crore saplings in other areas of the district along with giving the strict orders to the officials for protecting the planted saplings,” said the Collector, suggesting officials to give preference to plant the saplings at the places where water grid works were under progress and on the bunds of the lakes and tanks that were selected under Mission Kakatiya project.

Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, District Revenue Officer J Shiva Srinivas, District Forest Officer Sunil R Rasmith, City Chief Planning Officer Z Ramdas, Municipal Commissioner Srinivas, Project Director of DRDA Muralidhar Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh, Rural Development Officer Purnachandra, Chief Planning Officer of Zilla Parishad Marapaka Nagesh, District Superintendent of Excise department G Kiran and District Education Officer Vijay Lakshmi Bhai were present along with District Treasurer Srinivas and Horticulture Officer Srinivas Rao.
