Nalgonda: The CPM demanded the government to withdraw the decision of cancellation of distributed house plots to poor and instead provide them 2BHK houses.

CPM’s state party member Julakanti Rangareddy along with 400 victims and party leaders staged a protest in front of Nalgonda Collectorate on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Julakanti said poor could not construct their houses at sanctioned plots by previous governments due to lack of infrastructure at the distributed sites. It is objectionable to cancel the distributed plots in the name of non-utilisation.

Party district secretary Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who said formation of Telangana would change the fate of poor during the agitation period, was now doing injustice to the poor by cancelling the distributed plots.

Stating that the government had issued notices of cancellation of distributed house plots by previous governments to the poor in several mandals of the district, he demanded government to roll back the decision and handover the plots to respective beneficiaries. Otherwise, the party would intensify the protest till they delivered justice.

Later, CPM leaders along with victims submitted a memorandum of demands to DRO Kheemya Naik. CPM leaders Anantharama Sharma, Veera Reddy, Banda Srisailam, Nari Illaiah, Mallesh, Sarvaiah, Hasham, Narsireddy, Dandempally Sattaiah, Paladugu Prabhavathi and others took part in the protest.
