Population growth rate is alarming: Finance Minister
Everyone should take the responsibility to prevent the explosion of population growth to avoid problems in future, since the present population growth rate is quite alarming, advised Finance Minister Eatala Rajender at a programme here on Tuesday.
​Karimnagar: Everyone should take the responsibility to prevent the explosion of population growth to avoid problems in future, since the present population growth rate is quite alarming, advised Finance Minister Eatala Rajender at a programme here on Tuesday.
District Medical and Health Department organised a programme at Kalabharati on the occasion of World Population Day, where Minister was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Rajender said that it is the responsibility of both husband and wife to adopt family planning methods, so that they can good care of their children.
The health officials were directed to take necessary steps to reduce the mortality rate of both mother and child at the time of pregnancy along with creating awareness among the parents about the importance of family planning.
The Minister handed over mementos and appreciation certificates to health officials, para-medical staff, ASHA and anganwadi workers, who rendered best services by creating awareness among the people about family planning.
He also handed over mementos to the parents, who followed family planning after having single child and handed over a cheque of Rs 5,000 through lottery system to those, who maintained at least three years gap between two children.
Appreciation certificates were also given to students, who performed well in essay writing competition, conducted on the occasion of World Population Day by District Medical and Health Department.
