Speaking to the media persons along with Assistant Commissioner of Police J Rama Rao at Late Umesh Chandra Conference hall, the top cop informed that the CM will visit Karimnagar on Wednesday to inaugurate third phase of Haritha Haram project at Bathukamma Kunta present at Lower Manair Dam at 11.20 am.

After the inauguration, he will chair a review meeting with the officials of various departments at the Collectorate conference hall and will attend a public meeting at Ambedkar Stadium, added the CP. He also said that about 2,000 police personnel are deployed as part of security arrangements including two Additional DCPs, six DCPs, 35 CIs, 101 SIs, four women SIs, 91 head constables, 701 constables, 56 women and home guards.

Vigorous inspection with 20 bomb disposal and dog squads was conducted ahead of the CM’s visit along with diverting the vehicles to prevent traffic problems for the convenience of the people. Keeping in view of the security and to prevent any untoward incidents, certain restrictions were imposed at Ambedkar Stadium, where the public meeting would be organised. People were not allowed to carry water bottles, water pockets, explosives, cigarettes, beedis and match boxes, said the top cop.

From the past one week, police have inspected various lodges located in the city and warned the owners not to give rooms or houses on rent for any outsiders keeping in view of the CM’s Karimnagar visit and ordered them to convey the information immediately to the police if they notice any suspicious persons.

Later the CP chaired a meeting with the police personnel, who were deployed for the CM tour programme and gave them various instructions on security arrangements.
