Bathukamma sarees will be ready by August
District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar assured that the Bathukamma sarees will be ready by the end of August month for distribution to the women on behalf of the State government on the occasion of Bathukamma festival. He inaugurated the Bathukamma sarees procurement centre at the Agriculture Market in Sircilla on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the State government gave work order to Sircilla district for manufacturing about 97 lakh Bathukamma sarees to distribute to the women.
As many as 15,000 handloom units in the town have started weaving and have manufactured 15 lakh sarees till date. A procurement centre at Agriculture Market was inaugurated on the day to store these sarees at one place.
The Collector said that additionally 5,000 handloom units were pressed into work to complete the target by the end of August month.
Later, Collector D Krishna Bhaskar inspected the Bathukamma sarees at procurement centre. Deputy Director of Handloom and Textile department of Warangal District Narayana and Additional Director of Handloom and Textile Department V Ashok Kumar were present on the occasion.
