He along with local MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy inaugurated the third phase of Haritha Haram programme by flagging off a rally, from Government Junior College to the Collectorate here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector directed all the officials from village to district-level to strive hard for the successful implementation of third phase of the programme in the district.
Tahsildars and village revenue officers must take necessary steps for planting several number of saplings by identifying government open places, SRSP areas, on the premises of government offices and educational institutions.
He told the officials to distribute the saplings to people as per their requirement without creating any problem and ask them to take steps for protecting the planted saplings.
MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy said that the officials of all departments in coordination with each other must reach the target of planting of about 75 lakh saplings by completing the programme within the prescribed time limit. He urged people of all sections to participate in the programme to make it a grand success.
District Forest officer Krishnma Chary, District and Rural Development Officer Anjaiah and the officials of various departments were present along with students of various educational institutions.
