Fake seeds a heavy blow to farmers: Congress

Speaking to newsmen here at Sanjeev Reddy Bhavan in Khammam on Thursday, Satyam said farmers were unable to repay their loans. Moreover, the government was not waiving off their loans due to which they are denied new loans.
Whom should the farmers approach when the government itself supplying fake seeds and fertilisers? he questioned, adding that the curbs imposed on withdrawal of money from the banks are further adding to their woes.
Demanding the government to issue the handwritten Pahanis (Papers) to farmers living in agency areas along with waiving off loans, Satyam informed that a dharna would be staged at SBI branch in Khammam on July 14, seeking immediate waiver of farm loans.
He urged party leaders and activists to participate in large numbers in the dharna and make it a grand success. State Kisan Keth Mazdoor Sangh vice-president Dasari Daniel and ST Unit state vice-president Banothu Balaji Rao Naik were part of the press meet.
