Hanamkonda: The district Congress president, Naini Rajender Reddy, demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should suspend Mahabubabad MLA B Shankar Naik from the party immediately for his misconduct with the District Collector, Preethi Meena.

Expressing serious distress at the manner the MLA misbehaved publicly with an IAS officer, the Congress leader posed ‘is this the Golden Telangana, the CM has been promising to the people in the State? What kind of leaders the TRS has been promoting?”

If an IAS officer has no security, what about the situation of the common people and low-level employees in the State? “The district Congress strongly condemns the TRS MLA’s act and demands serious action against him,” Rajender Reddy said at a press conference in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

It has become a practice for the ruling party leaders to resort to acts of bullying as there was no control from the top over them. ‘Public in the state were vexed up with this kind of governance and soon would teach a lesson to the ruling party,’ he noted.

Rajender Reddy also demanded the CM action against Minister T Nageswar Rao and MLA M Yadagiri Reddy for their reported ill-mannered behaviour with the government official. The government should explain its act of transferring district collector of Peddapalli for giving appointment to TJAC leader M Kodandaram.

The Congress leader said the party would always stand by the government officials and fight for their cause by involving all opposition parties adding in Congress regime no government official was harassed. Further he appealed the officials to execute their duties impartially for the welfare of the people and not to serve the interests of the ruling party leaders.
