Khammam: Take necessary steps for organising deworming day on August 10, ordered District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar.
The Collector chaired a review meeting with the officials concerned to discuss the arrangements for deworming programme, in Khammam on Friday.
Addressing the officials, the Collector directed them to take all necessary steps for administering deworming medicines to the children in the district on August 10.
“All the children of below 19 years of age must be administered deworming medicines without fail,” ordered the Collector. Coordination meetings must be organised in all mandals for administering the deworming medicine after 30 minutes post the lunch.
This programme must be implemented with perfect planning and the headmasters of schools and colleges must take responsibility in making the programme successful, advised the Collector.
The Collector further ordered the District Panchayat Raj Officer to take necessary steps for maintaining the surroundings clean and tidy apart from organising rallies, pasting posters and creating awareness among villagers about the benefits of deworming.
Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Marapaka Nagesh, District Malaria Officer Ram Babu, Project Officer of DRDA Muralidhar Rao and the District Education Officer Vijay Lakshmi Bhai were present along with others.
