​Khammam: The State government failed to bail out the vegetable farmers and dairy farmers, alleged Vadde Sanjeev Reddy, the state convener of Telangana Vegetable and Dairy Farmers Association (TVDFA).

Led by Telangana Rythy Sangham leader Madineni Lakshmi, a meeting was held with the representatives of TVDFA at Manchikanti Bhavan here on Monday.

Addressing the participants, Sanjeev Reddy said that the milk production was not coping up with the demand due to the negligence of the State government. Taking this as an advantage, some people were indulging in production of spurious milk powder, which has been creating health issues among children and adults, who consume it.

Some of the representatives of private diaries along with their agents were purchasing milk from diary famers by paying Rs 30 to Rs 40 and selling the same for others for Rs 60 by removing cream, he pointed.

Sanjeev Reddy said that the government must appoint a veterinary doctor for every 10,000 cattle present in villages or in a mandal, along with giving 50 per cent subsidy by sanctioning loans for dairy farmers for purchasing better quality breeds that yield more milk quantity.

The vegetable farmers were not getting minimum price for their produce and at the same the consumers are paying high prices for the vegetables.

The government must grant loans to vegetable farmers on subsidy for purchasing fertilizers and manures along with establishing cold storages for storing the produce, he demanded.

TVDFA representatives Bandi Ramesh, Katta Gandhi, Guntapally Venkataiah, Tummala Srinivas Rao, Uradi Sudarshan Rao, Madineni Ramachandra Rao, Nallamothu Mohan Rao, Venganati Venkatrao, Avuri Nanaiah, S K Hussain Bi, Mannepally Padma, Anumola Krishnaiah and Kanneboiana Srinu were present along with others.
