The continuous rains on Monday and Tuesday threw normal life out of gear in Nalgonda, Yadadri and Suryapet districts. Moderate to heavy rains that lashed the erstwhile Nalgonda district, however, raised the hopes of farming community as it would speed up the agricultural activities in the present Kharif season.

Moderate to heavy rains that lashed the erstwhile Nalgonda district, however, raised the hopes of farming community as it would speed up the agricultural activities in the present Kharif season.

In Nalgonda, district average rainfall was recorded as 62.6 mm with highest being 25.5 mm in Chandur. Musi project in Ketepally mandal has been receiving good inflows due to continuous rains in the upper stream. Full Tank Level of Musi project is 645 ft and the present water level stood at 630 feet. In Nalgonda town, drizzling continued throughout the day.

In Yadadri district, average rainfall was recorded as 19 mm and highest being 38 mm in Bhongir, followed by 13.2 mm in Bibinagar mandal. Musi rivulet was overflowing at Rudravelli, Battugudem, Chinnaravulapalli of Bibinagar mandal. As a result, traffic movement between Bibinagar-Pochampally came to a standstill.

In Suryapet district, the average rainfall recorded was 50 mm and highest rainfall 72.8 mm was recorded in Munagala mandal. Majority water bodies in the district are brimming with water due to continuous rains.
