Gurram Baba held for duping tribals in Mahabubabad
The police have arrested a person for duping the tribals at Kuravi and other places in the district in the name of performing pujas for good health and prosperity.

The accused, Kadavanchi Ram, is also called ‘Gurram Baba’, as he visits the villages riding a horse and clad in amber-coloured clothing. It was said that the baba visited Kuravi a few days ago and convinced locals to perform special pujas and collected huge amounts of cash from the residents.
Later, he decamped with the money on his horse. The locals realising that they were cheated complained to Kuravi police. Following which, the police launched a man hunt and nabbed the accused on Tuesday along with his associates Islavath Ramulu and others.
The baba, who belongs to Dosapahad of Suryapet district, was said to have earlier deceived people at Bhimdevarapalli in Warangal urban district. Following complaints by locals, the police have taken him into custody and released him later.
