Hanamkonda: Amid growing clamour surrounding the murder of Corporator Anisetty Murali, the police on Wednesday said they were not under any kind of pressure.

Addressing a press conference here, Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu said prima facie murder of Murali that took place on July 13 was based on personal animosity between the deceased and the prime accused Bommati Vikram Kumar (A-1).

It may be noted here that Vikram along with two others who assisted him in the murder surrendered before the police soon after the incident.

Referring to the naming of three Congress leaders – DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy, Pothula Sriman and Kanuganti Shekhar – as A-4, A-5 and A-6 in the remand report submitted to the court, the CP said: “Purely, it was based on the confession statement given by the main accused Vikram and it has nothing do with any political intervention.

Despite this, we are leaving no stone unturned as part of the investigation.”

The police included A-4, A-5 and A-6 in the remand report after the main accused confessed that he got support from them, he said, assuring a fair inquiry into the murder case.

Responding to a query, the Commissioner said there was no delay in preparing remand report and everything was done in proper manner.
