Warangal Urban: The State government is planning to provide wi-fi services soon in every village in Telangana, informed Commissioner, Electronic Service Delivery (ESD-Mee Seva) GT Venkateshwar Rao.

The official, who is also the Special Commissioner of e-governance, has said many digital technologies have been introduced by the government to promote People Process and Technology (PPT), e-wallet and many others for users in the State.

He addressed the inaugural of a five-day faculty development programme (FDP) on ‘Quality assurance in higher educational institutions and industries’ oganised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) here on Wednesday.

The programme is sponsored by Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Hyderabad. It is supported by the Centre for the Transformation of Waste Technology, Chicago, USA.

Venkateshwar Rao informed that nearly 1.2 million downloads are obtained for PPT apps all over India. Similarly, about one billion transactions are processed through e-wallet. ‘All these latest technologies lead to formation of digital Telangana by which we could achieve Golden Telangana’, he added.

The managing director of Quality Mentors Co., Kochi, (Kerala) Joji Jacob noted that industries are rapidly changing into i4.0 technologies. It can be operated by using Big Data and mobile data. The applications of i4.0 technologies are used in 3D printers, machine to machine technology and others.

MLA V Satish Kumar, KITSW treasurer P Narayana Reddy, director Y Manohar, principal P Venkateswara Rao, FDP convener K Ashoka Reddy, organising secretary PS Ramachander Rao attended the programme.
