Mahbubnagar: With more than 50 per cent of individual latrines completed in erstwhile Mahbubnagar under Swachh Bharat Programme, Dr T K Sridevi, Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration had asked the officials and leaders to work in tandem to achieve the set targets of Individual Latrines (ILs), in order to make Mahbubnagar open defection-free district.

Sridevi, who had also served as District Collector of erstwhile Mahbubnagar, visited Jogulamaba Gadwal district and took part in the third phase of Haritha Haram programme at New Housing Board Colony in Gadwal town on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridevi called up on the participation of every individual to make Haritha Haram and Swachh Bharat programmes a grand success.

“Haritha Haram and Swachh Bharath are the two important programmes that are meant to bring comprehensive changes in the protection of environment and health. However, these programmes will bear fruits only when the officials and leaders work unitedly to achieve the targets,” she said.

Already, erstwhile Mahbubnagar had achieved 50 per cent success in the construction of individual latrines and very soon the district would also complete the remaining targets and would emerge as number one district in achieving the open defection-free tag, observed Sridevi.
