TB Programme officer Dr N Srinivas, who presided over the programme, said that worms cause anemia, malnutrition, spasm, nausea and blood in stools among children. As a result, physical and mental development would be delayed among the affected persons, he said.

Hygiene conditions would help in protecting from worms, said the officer. He explained about school format, Anganwadi format, report of ASHA activists and distributed pamphlets on the occasion. He urged the officials to sensitise the people on the issue.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy DMHO Dr Jayapal Reddy explained about life cycle of worms. He sought the cooperation of all members to make the campaign successful. Mandal Education Officer Narayana said they would organise parents meeting to sensitise them on the issue. He asked the cooperation of officials concerned in this regard.

Dr Sugandhini instructed the primary school teachers and Anganwadi teachers to attend training camps at various levels without fail. She asked their cooperation in making Measles and Rubella campaigns (on August 17th) a success.

District Immunisation Officer Samiuddin recalled the services rendered by Anganwadi teachers and asked them to continue the same for the next term. Albendazole 400 mg drug would be administered to children on August 10th, he said.

The remaining children would be administered on August 23rd. Doctors, Supervisors, Evidence action coordinator Kumar, A Rajesham, teachers ,Anganwadi workers and others attended the programme.
