​Warangal: The railway police have seized 24 kilograms of dry ganja (marijuana) and arrested a person carrying the substance at Warangal railway station on Tuesday, during special inspections in running trains.

The accused, called Alamanda Sekhar (43) belonging to Paderu near Visakhapatnam on board LTT Visakhapatnam - Mumbai Express No 18519, was carrying two luggage bags containing ganja packed in 12 pockets - each weighing two kilograms, Railway Police Inspector P Srinivas said.

He was found suspiciously travelling in general coach carrying the huge luggage bags. When searched the bags the police found dry ganja. They recovered a cell phone and cash of Rs 3,000.

Sekhar was going to Mumbai to sell the ganja procured from border villages of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. He would be produced before the JFMC court for railways, Kazipet railway inspector said.
