Hanamkonda: On the surface, both TRS and BJP are giving the impression of crossing swords but behind the scenes they are helping each other, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, he charged the TRS government with working for contractors and land mafia besides protecting the corrupt. Further, he accused the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, of running autocratic rule in the State, bulldozing the spirit of democracy.

“Though the multi-crore land registration scam of Miyapur has exposed the involvement of several bigwigs of the ruling party and their nexus with the land mafia, the government failed to initiate action against them,” Reddy alleged. He further alleged that the government was protecting the TRS leaders and top rank officials, while holding lower cadre officials responsible for the scams.

In last three years, there are number of scams that came to fore and none of these cases made a significant progress, Reddy said, referring to gangster Nayeem, Miyapur land etc. “Whenever a scam surfaces, KCR states that no one how big they may be will be brought to the justice and thereafter the government defuses it,” he said.

As of now, the government trained its guns against filmy world while letting off those belonging to the ruling party leaders in the ongoing investigation relating to drug mafia, Reddy said.

He found fault with the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao for not talking about Dalits of Nerella in Sircilla district, who were beaten black and blue by the police. Reddy demanded KTR, who is also the in-charge of Mines portfolio, needs to answer on the issue.

Alleging that the ruling party leaders were behind the sand mafia, he demanded the Minister disclose the details of the revenue that the government was getting from sand resource. He said that BJP and TRS are trying to hoodwink the people by criticising each other but both the parties are going hand in glove.
