Karimnagar: “Pure water and air is essential for the existence of humans and for that we should have 33 per cent forest cover. Hence the State government had launched the unique programme Haritha Haram to increase green cover,” stated Finance Minister Eatala Rajender.

He had participated in the third phase of Haritha Haram in 16 and 18 division in Huzurabad town on Thursday. He distributed saplings to the people and also participated in the mass plantation drive on the tank bund near RTC bus depot here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that planting the saplings is a social responsibility of everyone. More forest coverage will get plenty of rainfall, which ultimately helps mankind to have a healthy life.

He gave a call to the people to participate in the plantation drive irrespective of political affiliations and also in sending the monkeys back to their natural habitat.

He urged the people to protect every sapling they had planted. City Municipal Chairperson Adluri Vijay Kumar, Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Kondal Reddy, Rural Development Officer Chennaiah and councilors were present along with others.
