Hyderabad: The Human Rights Commission has directed VB Kamalasan Reddy, the Commissioner of Police of Karimnagar district, to file a report on the attack of a municipal corporator by police and forcible custody of a cow.
It was reported that Karimnagar One Town police has forcibly taken custody of a cow from its owner, Hadi Bin Ahmed while he was shifting cow to animal husbandry hospital for treatment, alleging that Ahmed was going to slaughter the cow. The police had shifted the cow to the local Goshala.
After receiving information about the incident from Basheer Ahmed, Municipal Corporator and TRS party Floor Leader requested Inspector Tula Srinivas Rao to enquire into the matter and handover the cow to its owner but the Inspector refused to release the cow.
On July 21, Basheer Ahmed along with Majid Hussain, Municipal Corporator and other 15 eminent members of the society requested the Inspector, Srinivas Rao, to handover the cow to its owner. Srinivas reportedly misbehaved with them and warned not to interfere in this issue and refused to hand over the cow to its owner.

As the Commissioner of Police did not take any action against the police officials, they filed a complaint with Karimnagar District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmedand sought action against the Inspector, ACP and another officer Srinivas. But when no action was taken, Basheer Ahmed knocked the doors of the Commission.
