Karimnagar: The youth of the present generation must focus on achieving greater heights and must not get addicted to drugs, advised District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.

An awareness programme 'Say no to drugs' for youth was organised at Trinity Engineering College here on Thursday. The Collector, the chief guest at the programme, advised the students to set goals in their lives and strive hard to achieve it.

“Some of your friends may force you and lead you towards bad habits but you should not get attracted to such mean things and deviating from studies,” he advised. Indulging in bad habits like smoking, consuming alcohol, becoming drug addicts etc will spoil the future and such bad habits will lead the youth into darkness, suggested the Collector.

Motivating the students, the Collector said good thoughts will lead everyone towards good actions. ‘So always try to think positively and should not get attracted to bad habits. Always say no to drugs and be an example for others.’

Deputy Commissioner of Excise department Venkatesh said one will come across both good and bad incidents in his/her life and they should select the good ones leaving the bad. For any deed, whether good or bad, the student himself will become responsible, he added.

He advised the students to attend such kind of programmes and get motivated to focus on their studies and career.

Excise Department Superintendent Chandrashekar, Trinity Engineering College Chairman Dasari Prashanth Reddy, College Principal and faculty members were present along with the students.
