She inaugurated the first Updation Centre for correcting the mistakes in Aadhaar cards at the Head Post Office in Mahabubabad on Friday.

​Mahabubabad: District Collector Dr Preethi Meena urged the people to utilise the services provided by the Indian postal department for rectifying the mistakes in Aadhaar cards at the Aadhaar card Updation Centres, set up in every post office. She inaugurated the first Updation Centre for correcting the mistakes in Aadhaar cards at the Head Post Office in Mahabubabad on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that people, who want to rectify mistakes in their Aadhaar cards, if any, can approach the post office directly with necessary proofs and can get new Aadhaar cards. This type of Updation Centres will be set up in the post offices in Thorrur, Dornakal, Kuravi, Maripeda, Kesamudram, Gudur, Kothaguda, Nellikuduru, Danthalapally and Peddavangara mandals across the district very soon along with some other areas, she informed.

Warangal Postal Department Supervisor Narasimha Raju said that with the opening of such centers in post offices, the postal department will become people-friendly and there is a possibility of many people visiting post offices near to their areas.

He also said that people, who have accounts in post office must enroll their Aadhaar card and pan card and mobile numbers for providing better services and explained about the various schemes and facilities provided by postal department for the sake of the people.

Postal ATM cards can be used in any national bank ATM centre present across the country and extra charges will not be collected for carrying money transactions, he added. Narasimha Raju urged the people to utilise the services provided by the postal department. Warangal Post Master Satyanarayana, Mahabubabad post master Sidharth and T Harsha were present along with others.
