Hanamkonda : The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, has been trying to hoodwink the public in the State by making false claims on growth rate in Telangana, alleged TDP senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy.

The State’s growth rate was around 10 per cent whereas the CM claims that Telangana was leading the country with 27 per cent growth rate. Further the CM also misinformed the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, with his false claims on development in Telangana.

The last year budget had a fiscal deficit of Rs 30,000 crore. At the time Telangana State was formed, there was a budget surplus of Rs 8,000 crore but it was mismanaged by the TRS government leading to deficit and imposed debt burden on the State, Prakash Reddy told presspersons in Hanamkonda on Friday.

Referring to the menace of corruption in government offices, food adulteration and drug racket spreading in Telangana State, the TDP leader complained that the Chief Minister was unaware of things for the past three years.

His failure to act and address the above issues has damaged the State’s reputation. Since he assumed the post of CM, Chandrashekar Rao used to ascertain that there would be no corruption in the government system but now he had admitted that there was corruption in revenue department.

According to TRS claims’, there were 1 lakh vacancies in different departments at the time of Telangana formation, in addition to 1 lakh vacancies created after Andhra employees left the State.

There were nearly 1.50 lakh vacancies on account of retirements and the total vacancies would be around 3.5 lakhs, he explained while stating that the promise of ensuring jobs to unemployed youth remained unfilled even after three years of the TRS rule.
