2 Maoists surrender
Two Maoists, including a woman, surrendered before the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sunil Dutt, here on Sunday. The ASP, who produced the duo before the media, said Karatam Idumaiah of Charla in Bhadradri –Kothagudem district had joined the banned outfit in 2012 and worked as a central regional committee member during 2014-2017. Idumaiah was involved in 11 cases.

He further added that Madivi Jamili of Punegudem in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh was also a member of the Maoist party from 2013 to 2017.
Charla Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana was present at the press meet.Earlier, the police conducted vehicle checks in the Bridge centre area of the town as part of their efforts to check Maoist activities. Sub-Inspectors P Karunakar and Abbaiah and CRPF personnel participated in the check.
