Sircilla: High tension prevailing in Sircilla as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is hell bent to take out the Chalo Sircilla rally on Monday.

The police already made heavy deployment and asked the local tent house people not to supply any furniture for erecting a stage or supply any other material like chairs, mikes etc. The police said action would be taken against them if they supply any material since the rally has no police permission. It’s learnt that the police would resort to preventive arrests from late on Sunday evening.

On the other hand, the TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that they are going ahead with all arrangements and they have their own strategies to make the rally successful. He said they have already filed a house motion in the High Court and are hopeful that the court would permit them. The decision of the court is expected to be announced around 10 am on Monday, he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress had in the past held many public meetings in that ground and even the TRS had organised a meeting there. He denied that it would cause disturbance to the students, since the meeting is scheduled at 6 pm on the day.

Meanwhile, former Speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar has reached Hyderabad on Sunday night. She was accorded a warm welcome at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders. From the airport, she had directly proceeded to Karimnagar where she would be participating in the 'Chalo Sircilla' agitation on Monday.
