As part of its efforts towards conserving natural resources, WWF India, Hyderabad Office organised a fundraising ‘Golf for Wildlife and Nature’ tournament in association with Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) at the HGA Golf Course over the weekend.

As part of its efforts towards conserving natural resources, WWF India, Hyderabad Office organised a fundraising ‘Golf for Wildlife and Nature’ tournament in association with Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) at the HGA Golf Course over the weekend.

The tee off took place at 6.30am by HGA President J Vikram Dev Rao. Internationally recognised golfer Sharmila Nicollet, the brand ambassador for Golf and Wildlife and Nature Tournament 2017 were present to meet and interact with the golfers while thanking them for their support for the cause.
The tournament besides being a sporting event also celebrated the International Tiger Day, which was on July 29.

Venkat Ravilla, J Narshima Raju, Sudhakar A and Anirudh K came first while Sanjay Kamtam, Shashidhar Reddy, Sridhar Reddy A andSankeeth N were the first runners-up and OP Modi, Ashok Reddy, Ramana Reddy and Mohan Tayel were the second runners-up.

Speaking on the occasion Anil Kumar V Epur, Chairman WWF- India Hyderabad Office Advisory Board; stated, “This annual WWF-HGA golf tournament being organised for the past three years has seen coming together of many likeminded as well as large hearted individuals to support the cause of nature conservation and wildlife protection.”

Nicolettadded, “Sustainability of our environment is a pressing issue and this unique event combines two of my passions- golf and wildlife together. I garner my whole-hearted support towards this WWF event and I’m honoured to be a part of it.”
