Fill abandoned quarries soon, orders GHMC Commissioner

Commissioner, GHMC Dr B Janardhan Reddy directed engineering officials to fill up abandoned quarries with building material waste as soon as possible.

The Commissioner inspected engineering works which are underway at Qutbullapur Circle. While on inspection he observed the dangers to the passersby near the quarry and directed the engineering officials to dump construction debris waste in to it on priority.

To this effect the Commissioner directed the officials conduct a meeting with Medchal District Collector to take up the works. The Commissioner has identified and inspected six abandoned quarries.

Later, he inspected ongoing works at Srinivas Enclave. The Commissioner directed officials to put up proposals for alternative road from Qutbullapur Suchithra to Bank of Baroda near Municipal Office. He also inspected the road widening works from IDPL to Balanagar.

In a review meeting the Commissioner directed the officials to create awareness among residents near the nalas not to throw garbage in it and to utilise the services of Swachh CRPs in this connection.
