Hyderabad Tiger Conservation Society(Hyticos) in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Society organised‘International Tigers Day Celebration’. About 520 children from 12 schools participated in the celebration at KBR National Park on July 28.

This programme was addressed by Imran Siddiqui along with other guest P Raghuveer, APCCF(IT) and Manoranjan Bhanja, APCCF(Wildlife) from Telangana forest department.

This day is celebrated on July 29, to give worldwide attention to conservation of tigers. It was founded at the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010. In the wake of threat of tiger extinction this day is marked for creating awareness through celebration.

The overall goal of these two events is to promote protection and expansion of the wild tiger’s habitats and to gain support through awareness for tiger conservation.

There were poster presentations which covered various topics like why save tigers, tiger ecology, studying tigers, Counting tiger prey, Volunteering opportunity etc. We also had educative games like Animal Bingo, Conducting Animal survey and matching tiger stripes. This was an educative game where children learned about animals.
