A classical vocal concert by Chaitanya and Shashank brothers enthralled audiences with their sonorous rendering of various kirtans.

The concert was held at Venugopalaswamy temple here on Monday under the aegis of Sangameswara Sangeeta Samakhya in memory of Akondi Lakshmi. The concert was arranged by her spouse Akondi Radhakrishna Murthy.

With their captivating voice, the brothers’ duo held the audiences spell-bound and transported them into a different world.

Beginning the concert with Nagumomu Kanaleni… in Abheri Raga, their music journey went on carrying the audiences with them in soulful rendering of kirtans – ‘Ksheera Sagara Sayana…’ (Devagandhara raga), ‘Naadamuni...’ (Pantuvarali Raga) and ‘Venuganaloluni’ (Kedaragoula Raga).

Later, a spiritual music concert was presented by Varanasi Venkateswara Sarma of Visakhapatnam and Krishnamacharyulu of (Chaitanya Brothers’ fame) of Bukkapatnam held the audiences glued to their seats with their magical performance. They rendered kritis ‘Vamdeham’ (Hamsadhwani), ‘Yemayya Rama’ (Kambhoji raga), ‘Annapurne’ (Samaraga) and ‘Okapari…’ (Kharaharapriya).

They were ably supported on musical instruments by M Narasimhamurthy of Yanam (violin) and Anil of Kakinada (mridanga).

Earlier, local cable network owner Reddypalli Venkateswara Rao lighted a lamp, marking the commencement of the concert.

Flautist GSKD Venkat Rao, Sangeeta Samakhya secretary Akondi Madhusudhan, president Dr PV Radhesh and others—Pantam Ramana, Teeda Suryanarayana, Janardhanacharyulu (priest) and Bolluju Raja (advocate) participated.
