​Peddapalli: The government is sanctioning loans to the members of Stree Nidhi to develop the women present in the district, said district in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy at a meeting held here on Wednesday.

He discussed about Stree Nidhi with the district-level committee members of Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP) in the meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall.

The in-charge Collector said there are about 12,979 Stree Nidhi societies, ten members in each society, in the district. Works could be done successfully with the participation of all members and coordination.

The government is sanctioning Rs 25,000 as general loan for six members in the society and Rs 50,000 as micro loan to two members along with Rs one lakh for one member as a trainee loan and for those, who are interested to purchase an auto, Rs 1,20,000 lakh loan will be sanctioned, he explained.

About Rs 53.09 crores loans were allotted for the district in this financial year. About Rs 7 crore are allotted to various societies till date and the remaining amount will be sanctioned at the earliest once the beneficiaries are identified.

Later, in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy enquired IKP members about the target details of their department under Haritha Haram programme.

The in-charge Collector said that the Stree Nidhi representatives must plant saplings in every village as part of the third phase of Haritha Haram by participating actively and also must not forget to protect the saplings they have planted.

In-charge District and Rural Development Officer A Prem Kumar, City Panchayat Commissioner Satyanarayana, District Panchayat Officer Sudarshan, Stree Nidhi Zonal Manager Vijay Bhaskar and District Agricultural Officer Thirumal Prasad were present along with others.
