Bathukamma sarees to be distributed to 2.28 lakh women
Following the decision of State government, the Bhongir district administration is making all necessary arrangements to distribute Bathukamma sarees to 2.28 lakh poor Hindu women at free of cost.
​Bhongir: Following the decision of State government, the Bhongir district administration is making all necessary arrangements to distribute Bathukamma sarees to 2.28 lakh poor Hindu women at free of cost.
Speaking to The Hans India on Wednesday, District Collector Anita Ramachandran informed that she had conducted a meeting with respective officials and discussed the rules and regulations framed for the programme. The Collector said she had directed the officials to identify places to store the saris and make a list of beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion she said, women who had white ration cards and attained 18 years of age were eligible to get Bathukamma sarees on the eve of forthcoming Dasara festival and saris would be distributed to eligible women during the Navarathri days of the festival.
Along with the officials of line departments, Self Help Groups would be involved to make the programme a grand success, the Collector added.
