Addressing the gathering, district AIDWA president Mallu Laxmi said government showing lip sympathy towards women and demanded the Rs 10 lakh loan to SHG groups under Stree Nidhi scheme and continuation of Abhaya Hastam pensions for the welfare of poor women.
Protestors stopped the car of the District Collector, Surendra Mohan, on his arrival to the Collectorate. He was allowed only after he gave assurance to discuss the matter with officials concerned.
