Sultanabad: Youth Congress activists set fire to the effigy of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at the Telangana Chowrasta here on Thursday.
They staged a protest against the death of a woman, Ganne Shankaramma, who was hit by a sand lorry at Kodangal village in Mustabad mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district. The protestors raised slogans against the CM.
Addressing the protestors, Youth Congress leader Utla Varaprasad accused KCR of promoting family rule rather than running the State administration in public interest, while neglecting people’s welfare. He alleged that the CM did not seem concerned about sand lorries crashing into residences.
Youth Congress leaders Muthyam Ramesh, Botla Vara Pradeep, Bongoni Anil Goud, Anthati Annaiah Goud, Kaveti Kumar and others participated in the protest programme.
