Karimnagar: A 11-year-old boy of Manthani, who suffered severe burns while trying to imitate reality TV show fire stunts, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad on Friday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ramagundam) Apoorva Rao said that the boy, Rapalle Kasi Vishwanath, fifth class student, has seen a fire breathing stunt in a reality show on Tuesday at his grand parents’ house in Manthani.

In a bid to imitate the stunt on the same day, he took kerosene into his mouth and lit fire near it. The stunt went wrong while he tried to spew out the kerosene from his mouth and was soon engulfed in the blaze," Rao said.

The boy was immediately rushed to a hospital in Manthani, from where he was referred to Hyderabad. He succumbed to severe burn injuries on Friday, the officer said.

A case has been registered with Banjara Hills police in the State capital, she said.
