Mahabubabad: Every village must flourish with lush greenery with the successful implementation of the government’s prestigious project Telanganaku Haritha Haram, said District Collector Dr Preethi Meena here on Friday.

She participated in the third phase of Haritha Haram in the 35 acres of forest region of Kandikonda in Palakurthy mandal and planted saplings.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector Preethi Meena said that trees are not only useful for the sustenance of mankind but also for every living being present in this world and for maintaining ecological balance of the nature.

It is the responsibility of everyone to make the district to develop greenery by participating actively in the Haritha Haram along with taking necessary steps for protecting the planted saplings by forming green brigadiers and Haritha Rakshana Dalams, she pointed out.

By conducting the Haritha Haram in every village under Village Panchayat, awareness must be created among the villagers about the importance of plants and the need to protect them, advised the Collector.

For every village panchayat, about 40,000 saplings will be distributed in three phases through forest department for planting them under Haritha Haram.

Every planted sapling must be taken care like of that of children until the saplings grows into full size trees, ordered the Collector. District Forest Officer Krishna Goud and the officials of Forest department were present along with others.
