The members of Green Corps organised an innovate programme at Ram Katta Tank here on Friday where they tied rakhis to the plants and called upon the people to protect the trees. 

Mancherial: The members of Green Corps organised an innovate programme at Ram Katta Tank here on Friday where they tied rakhis to the plants and called upon the people to protect the trees.

Led by the coordinator Gundeti Yogeswar, Assistant Director Abdul Ghani, DEO office staff and school students tied rakhis made with green ribbons to the trees. The members hugged the trees showing their love towards nature.

Members administered ‘Green Pledge’ by the students.‘Following the directions of State Council of Educational Research and Training, we are organising the programme,’ Yogeswar said. The trees would reduce temperature, pollution and useful for survival of human race, he added.

The members created awareness among the students about the importance of trees. Yogeswar appealed to the people to protect the trees, as it is a social responsibility.

ZP High School Headmaster A Venugopal, Green Corps members K Santosh, SK Qutubuddin, Vamshi and students in large numbers took part in the programme.
