The bond between a sister and brother is inseparable and to celebrate this bond we observe Raksha Bandhan. However, the festival is incomplete without a platter of yummy sweets, which sweetens the relationship more. Here are a few easy to make lip smacking recipes for the occasion­

Quick Badam Peda

Ingredients:
Cilkpowder 1¾ cups
Condensed milk 1 can (around 400 gms)
Butter 2 tbsp
Almond powder 2 tbsp
Green cardamoms, peeled and seeds crushed to a fine powder (or alternatively, ½ tsp cardamom powder) 8
A small pinch of saffron, dissolved in 2 tbsp rosewater
Few dry nuts of your choice (cashews, almonds, pistachios etc)
A small pinch of salt to taste

Method:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter.
  • Add milk powder, almond powder and condensed milk and mix well to avoid any lumps. Mixing well is crucial.
  • Put the bowl back in the microwave and heat on High for 1 minute.
  • Take the bowl out and mix the contents again. Heat it for 1 minute oh High.
  • Take the bowl out and mix cardamom powder, saffron, rosewater and salt. Mix well and again heat for 1 minute.
  • Take the mixture out and wait a bit for it to slightly cool off.
  • Next, grease your palms with ghee and start making round balls of the peda.
  • prinkle some cardamom powder on top and finally decorate with your favorite nut and a saffron strand.
