After unveiling the pylon of SRSP revival works on Thursday, the CM will also address a public meeting. Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy were present with the CM.

Nizamabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday arrived at Pochampad to launch the revival works of Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP). After unveiling the pylon of SRSP revival works on Thursday, the CM will also address a public meeting. Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy were present with the CM.

Meanwhile, the State government on Wednesday accorded administrative approval for the works of modernisation of 284-kilometer Kakatiya main canal and distributaries including Laxmi canal, Saraswathi canal and Sadarmatt anicut maintenance works and maintenance of the dam costing Rs 873 crore to irrigate an ayacut of 13.70 lakh acres under SRSP Stage-I.

The break-up of funds: Rs 385 crore for the modernisation of Kakatiya Main Canal; Rs 356 crore for the modernisation of distributaries of Kakatiya Main Canal; Rs 20 crore for the repair works of Laxmi Canal; Rs 49 crore for the modernisation of Saraswathi Canal; Rs 21 crore for the modernisation of Sadarmatt Anicut; Rs 31 crore for the repair works of SRSP and Lower Manair Dam.

This is in addition to the Rs 1,000 crore allocated for the revival of SRSP works.
