Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker has appealed the Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao to set a regional centre of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in Warangal. He made a representation in this connection during a recent meeting with the Minister in Hyderabad.

Warangal Urban: Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker has appealed the Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao to set a regional centre of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in Warangal. He made a representation in this connection during a recent meeting with the Minister in Hyderabad.

Vinay Bhasker along with Station Ghanpur MLA Dr T Rajaiah called on KTR and apprised him about the need of establishing TASK’s regional centre in Warangal city. He said there were about 20 engineering colleges, besides National Institute of Technology (NIT), pharmacy and management colleges in and around the city.

Every year, nearly 5,000 engineering graduates are coming out the colleges and about 90 per cent of them hail from rural places. And majority of them are first generation literates and are in need of skills required to face the competition in the job market.

In view of that there is a dire need of the TASK centre in Warangal to ensure skill development towards better employment. If the regional centre is located in the city it will also cater the needs of students from north Telangana districts like Khammam, Karimnagar, Adilabad and parts of Nalgonda and Nizamabad, Vinay Bhasker stated in his representation.

Responding to the representation the minister Tarakarama Rao has directed the TASK CEO to hold a meeting with the educational institutions and students and initiate measures to set p the regional centre at the earliest.

The MLA Vinay Bhasker has also met Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) regional head and vice president V Rajanna in the capital and sought him to establish a branch of the TCS in Warangal. He told the TCS executive that the IT minister has been committed to expand IT industry to tier-II cities like Warangal.

Warangal being the second biggest city after Hyderabad in Telangana has been witnessing rapid growth. The city has already been chosen for implementation of Smart City Mission, HRUDAY and AMRUT.

The state government has also keen to ensure required infrastructure to IT industry in the tier-II cities like Warangal. Hence establishing a branch of TCS in Warangal can ensure employment to the local students, Vinay Bhasker explained.
