Mahabubabad: The District Collector Dr Preethi Meena urged the shepherds who had been sanctioned with sheep units on subsidy by the State government under ‘Sheep Rearing Scheme’ to take care of the sheep properly and develop economically here on Wednesday.

The Collector during her visit to Kuravi mandal inspected the sheep of shepherd Burra Komoraiah of Balapala village who had been selected as one of the beneficiaries under ‘Sheep Rearing Scheme’ and sanctioned with sheep unit.

Observing the tags that were fixed to the ears of sheep the Collector Dr. Preethi Meena said that on August 7 in Balapala village of Kuravi mandal to about 25 members of beneficiaries the sheep units are sanctioned under Sheep Rearing Scheme that are purchased from Ananthapuram District.

She ordered the beneficiaries not remove the tags that were fixed to the ears of the sheep and sell the sheep to others. If any health problems arise to the sheep in the sheep units that were sanctioned to them then take them immediately to the nearest veterinary doctor and utilise free treatment along with medicines provided by the government, she suggested.

She also ordered the beneficiaries to take necessary steps for arranging the sufficient quantities of fodder for the sheep by growing the grass to avoid scarcity in future.
