Worms inhibit children’s growth, says Dist Collector

Peddapalli: The State Government would take all necessary measures to prevent children from being infected with worms, said District In-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy.
On the eve of National De-worming Day on Thursday, he flagged off an awareness rally on here Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said worms affect growth in children and told the teachers to administer Albendazole tablet to them.
The in-charge Collector urged Anganwadi workers, teachers and parents to take necessary steps and ensure that Albendazole medicines were made available to the children. Prabhakar asked the teachers and parents to create awareness among the students about precautionary steps. They took out a rally from Collectorate to the Telangana Thalli statue.
District Medical and Health Officer Bhikshapati, medical staff, students and others were present in the rally.
